Institute conducts consultative meeting with investors, stakeholders Metals Industry Development Institute (MIDI) conducted a consultative discussion with investors engaged in the metals and engineering sub sectors and stakeholders. The key areas of discussions were performance review of the preceding budget year and the 2007 plan, and issues that are of concern to investors in the sector. Addressing the meeting Industry Minister His Excellence Ahmed Abitew said there are a number of challenges that investors face despite government’s attempts to create an enabling and conducive investment environment. However, to prevail over the challenges of the sector, investors and stakeholders have to work in better collaboration. “The government is committed and does its level of best to assist the sector play a more crucial role in the growth of country’s economy,” the Minister added. At the meeting, including Workneh Delelegne Director General of MIDI, nearly 55 investors who are engaged in the metals and engineering sub sector and 15 stakeholders participated.
