Integrity moments - More than Legal By: Rick Boxx In the book, “Work as Worship,” a Keller Williams real estate agent landed a listing and liked the deal so much he put a contract on it himself. He then learned that a much higher offer came in later. He went to his boss. “At my last job” he said, “I wouldn’t have a problem with this new offer, because legally I could just ignore it, but the values here at Keller Williams lead me to a different conclusion.” To his own detriment this agent ended up taking the higher offer to his client and nullifying his contract. Romans 13:8 teaches, “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.” Loving others can sometimes require more than what’s legal.
