Intensive Drug Investigation Yields Substantial Cash and Heroin Worcester, MA (March, 11, 2014) - On Saturday, March 8, 2014 members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad obtained a search warrant for 17 Shale Street. The search warrant was the result of a year-long joint investigation involving the Worcester Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office of Joseph Early. This investigation involved wiretaps, surveillance and controlled buys. The target of the search was 28-year-old Gabriel Texidor-Ramos of 100 Chester Street, Fitchburg, MA. At approximately 2:00 PM the vice officers executed the warrant for the second floor apartment. Police forced their way into the apartment; the front door swung open and struck a glass table. There was a large amount of cash on the table which scattered in the air as officers rushed the apartment. Police immediately identified the target present in the apartment. Both the target and a second male, later identified as Ramon Martinez-Perez, 20-years-old of 16 East 208th Street, Bronx, NY, attempted to flee by running out the rear door. As the two were running the officers observed Mr. Ramos attempt to hand Mr. Perez a large plastic bag which fell to the floor. At this time Mr. Ramos attempted to punch one of the officers. A struggle ensued but he was eventually placed in handcuffs. The plastic bag that fell to the ground contained 309 grams of heroin. The money that was tossed from the glass table amounted to $7,597. Mr. Perez managed to make it to the rear porch but was apprehended and placed under arrest. Two other males were present at the time of the raid; they were located in a nearby room. The two were identified as Elby Jose Sanchez, 19-years-old of 181 554th Street, Manhattan, NY and Joel Ventura-Paulino, 28-years-old of 181 554th Street, Manhattan, NY. Mr. Sanchez and Mr. Paulino were placed under arrest without incident. After the apartment was secured the officers conducted a thorough search. The search produced 5-ten gram bags of heroin, 3 large bags containing approximately 221 grams of heroin wrapped in tinfoil, numerous cell phones, numerous boxes of plastic sandwich bags, surgical masks, digital scales and other miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. Police also located $860.00 in cash that was taken from inside the sneakers of Mr. Martinez-Perez. Police also seized the vehicle belonging to Mr. Texidor-Ramos. The vehicle is a 2007 Honda Odyssey. Recovered from inside this vehicle was an additional $7,000 in cash. Mr. Martinez-Perez, Mr. Sanchez, and Mr. Ventura-Paulino were all charged with Trafficking Greater than 200 Grams of Class A Substance (heroin) and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws. Mr. Texidor-Ramos was charged with Resisting Arrest, Providing a False Name to a Police Officer, Trafficking Greater than 200 Grams of Class A Substance (heroin), Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws and also on a warrant for being a Fugitive from Justice. The warrant was issued from the New York City Police Department. On the same day, at approximately 2:15 PM, members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad, Gang Unit and the Street Violence Prevention Unit, executed a search warrant for 1069 West Boylston Street. Officers at the scene secured two males inside the home. The males were identified as 39-year-old Jeremiah Coffey of 8 Lynnwood Avenue, Oxford and 32-years-old Luis Garcia-Tobar of 33 May Street, Worcester. Once the house was secured the officers conducted a thorough search. The search produced 51 grams of heroin, one large bag containing approximately 45 grams of heroin, another plastic bag containing 6 grams of heroin, $4,602 in cash, cell phones, scales and other miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. Both men were placed under arrest at the scene. Police seized a Ford Focus that belongs to Mr. Coffey and towed it back to police headquarters. Mr. Coffey was charged with 16 counts of Distribution of Class A (heroin) Substance, Possession of Class A Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws and Trafficking in Heroin 28-99 Grams. Mr. Luis Garcia-Tobar was charged with Conspiracy Violate Controlled Substance Laws and Trafficking in Heroin 28-99 Grams. Vice officers located a third suspect at the Goldstar Boulevard Shaw’s parking lot. This suspect was identified as 35-year-old Jonathan Kiesiner of 13 Oak Circle, Millbury, MA. A search of Mr. Kiesner produced 47 knotted baggies of heroin, $73.00 in cash and cell phones. Mr. Kiesner was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class A Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Distribution of Class A Substance and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws. On the same day, as part of this investigation, the Massachusetts State Police executed a search warrant for 100 Chester Street, Fitchburg, MA. Police entered the home and arrested the sole occupant of the dwelling. The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Clariery Taveras. A search of the home produced $2,000 in cash and a handgun which was reported stolen. Ms. Taveras was placed under arrest by the MSP and charged with Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card and receiving Stolen Property. On Monday, March 10, 2014 a search warrant was executed for a safety deposit box at the Bank of America in Fitchburg. The search produced $53,585 in cash. All evidence was seized and processed by their respective agencies. This investigation confiscated a total of $75,717 in cash and approximately 644 grams of heroin which has a street value of approximately $120,000, a stolen handgun and two vehicles. This investigation is ongoing.
