Interactive Program Manager, Scheduling Operations - Sirius XM Radio Washington DC, DC The Interactive Program Manager, Scheduling Operations will manage the day-to-day operations of various media scheduling systems including the Electronic Program Guide [“EPG’] and sports play-by-play upload tool, On Demand, among others. These systems distribute radio show information (descriptions, schedules, images) across a variety of consumer-facing platforms including siriusxm, streaming player, mobile apps and in-car dash. S/he oversees user training, creates related training materials and is a primary point of contact for questions involving the system. S/he will monitor the various distribution platforms for posted content and work with Programming and Interactive colleagues as required to troubleshoot problems. S/he will manage rights, permissions, user profiles and the build out of new channels in the admin tool. S/he will suggest improvements to the systems, gather requirements and create functional requirements documents to work in collaboration with Interactive Director across departments for development, rollout and UAT of significant changes. Additionally, the Program Manager will become involved with major digital projects and use other large scale content management systems. The ideal candidate for this position offers a customer-oriented blend of organizational, project management, presentation, people skills, editorial skills (copy writing, online best practices, social media experience, subject matter expertise) and digital know-how (HTML & CMS). Prior experience producing for a website or digital property is a must. An interest in sports, entertainment and music content is a plus. Duties and Responsibilities: Act as point-person and in-house “expert” for EPG and sports play-by-play upload systems • Owns projects end-to-end as assigned and overseen by manager • Train internal EPG system users and create related educational materials • Create, update and delete channels and system meta data in admin tool • Manage new user installation, rights and permissions • Work with Programming, Interactive and IT teams to troubleshoot problems • Monitor day-to-day content uploading in a variety of content management systems • Act as business analyst to create functional requirement documents for system improvements • Edit and proofread a variety of content for the website, ensuring it meets style, tone and marketing message requirements, as well as reflecting the SiriusXM brand • Intimately understand corporate priorities and how they connect to pop culture trends and media • Work proactively and volunteer assistance without being asked & under tight schedules • Manage relationships with other teams • Develop system overview PowerPoint presentations • Develop, create and deploy content across all digital outlets for SiriusXM etc. to provide a rich experience for subscribers and prospects • Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • 3 - 5 years of web and/or digital content experience Requirements and General Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proven project management experience • Experienced in assets and rights management • Meticulous attention to details; strong organizational skills • Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles • Experience with Content Management Systems and web publishing • Top-notch spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills • Proven track record of success producing digital content in sports, music, entertainment or news • Makes good decisions based upon analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment • Ability to get things done through formal channels and an informal network • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels • Strong analytical, prioritization, problem-solving and negotiating skills • Willingness to work off-hours and cover on-call shifts • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects • Familiarity with a variety of online marketing concepts, best practices and procedures • Must have legal right to work in the U.S. Technical Skills: Experience working with scheduling databases or project management software • Knowledge of SEO best practices • Working knowledge of HTML and content publishing tools; XML, CSS and Flash a plus • Extensive experience with content management systems • Strong understanding of web production and deployment principles/best practices • Ability to edit, crop, color-correct graphic images in Photoshop • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint ) • Working knowledge of social networking tools, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
