Interesting! One night I was watching the show and wondered if something like this would ever happen. Although it reminds me of the Friends situation, to me its completely different in that on Friends its not like one star/character was significantly more critical to shows success than another. Im surprised to hear David Schwimmer was NBCs pick -- they offered him more money and he went to the other guys -- b/c he was my least favorite! Lisa Kudrow has turned out to be 5 times funnier than any of them! But to each his/her own. Whereas on Big Bang, I think its hard to argue there would be a show without Jim Parsons / Sheldon. Of course, Johnny Galecki / Leonard is very important, but I think it *could* continue without him, and definitely without Kaley Cuoco / Penny. I wouldve just assumed the Emmy-winning central character of the show would earn more than everyone else. So Im pretty surprised to see THR report that those three are indeed negotiating together, currently earning $325K / episode and seeking -- the Friends salary, $1 mil / episode. I think Jim Parsons shouldve negotiated on his own but whatever. Personally, my favorite star/character, and the one who makes me laugh the most, is definitely Mayim Bialik / Blossom / Amy Farah Fowler. I think she should be the one getting $1 mil / episode! (And of course her becoming a regular was accident / she was only supposed to be on one episode.) I like Big Bang, but to me its not nearly as reliably funny as other classic sit-coms like Friends, Will & Grace, Seinfeld, The Office, the show from the same creator - Two and a Half Men (before well...), and even current competition Modern Family and Parks & Recreation. Big Bang usually makes me chuckle a few times and the characters are likeable, but its too old-fashioned / standard sit-com compared to MF and P&R which always make me actually LOL. Of course, it gets about 3 or 4 times the ratings of those shows, with its broader appeal, and CBS makes a ton off of it (probably the only other show that makes more is NCIS), so I guess I would have to agree with the show creator Chuck Lorre (or that drunk old queen who stole all my ideas, as Roseanne Barr affectionately calls him) who says they deserve and should seek whatever they can get, and -- itll all work out. CBS wont let this show go, and the stars (if theyre smart) will give it a few more years. Kinda douchey on their part not to take part in Comic-Con I think. Especially since Id assume this show has a big following with that crowd. Apparently Jim Parsons was there the day before the Big Bang event to promote a feature film, but skipped the Big Bang event which was just writers. To me, hes very talented but runs the risk of always being known as Sheldon once he moves on / tries to do other projects. Because they really care what I think! :) hollywoodreporter/live-feed/big-bang-theory-delays-production-721653
