Interesting, after the State of The Union address, Senator Cruz - TopicsExpress

Interesting, after the State of The Union address, Senator Cruz stated that it was unprecidented that a President (namely, President Obama) would state whether or not he would enforce a law, or enact it contrary to the way it was written, yet many presidents have issued Presidential Signing Statements (a written comment issued by a President at the time of signing legislation). Sometimes these Signing Statements have involved claims by Presidents that they believe some part of the legislation is unconstitutional and therefore they intend to ignore it or to implement it only in ways they believe is constitutional. Sen. Cruz say have forgotten that President George W Bush, for instance, signed 125 Signing Statements, claiming the authority to bypass more than 750 statutes, which were provisions contained in about 125 bills. Sort of makes you wonder what Senator Cruz has been smoking.....
