Interesting and personally exciting story . . . A precious - TopicsExpress

Interesting and personally exciting story . . . A precious lady has been visiting our church. She came to the US from Cuba back in 1961 around the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis. After leading the music this past Sunday morning, she approached me and shared how much she enjoyed my voice. We talked a little bit further sharing our love for classical and operatic music. Then a thought came to my mind. My father had spent a lot of time in Cuba back in the 50s. He was well known in Cuba for singing in Opera productions and concert venues, so I asked her if she had ever heard of Lloyd Thomas Leech. Her face lightened immediately and she shared that she did know (of) him and remember him! I went on further to explain that he was my father! I had shared with her before about him and the Tarzan yell but I never went so far as to share his history and background in Grand Opera. We continued to talk as I shared several of his pictures with her. We had such a lovely conversation about him. I was beyond excited (and still am) to hear her share her memories of him. She was very involved with the arts in Cuba, participating in many Opera and concert productions. I look forward to sharing more with her! What an incredible and unexpected blessing!! . . . I am still amazed at how the world becomes just a little bit smaller when we experience these blessed encounters!
