Interesting article by Jo Macfarlane (p 15) in todays MoS about future of A&E services in Shropshire. I spoke with Jo on telephone this week but am not quoted in article. Not much we didnt know already, except the idea of consultants using Skype to diagnose patients in smaller hospitals. Actually this is not new. Pioneer of this was Dr John Wynn Jones at Montgomery Surgery about 30 yrs ago. Man ahead of his time. Not sure how it would work, but should not be dismissed without consideration. There will be a major debate on Shropshire Health services next summer. If Im re-elected in a May, it will be my biggest issue.
