Interesting comment from reader on the IRS story: The two federal courts had ordered the IRS to give sworn statements on exactly what, how, and when Lerner’s emails disappeared. The administration had hidden their IT staff from Congress. The federal districts courts ordered that they submit sworn affidavits. They being the IT guys not some lawyer or commissioner. IT is not going to lie and go to jail for these asses. So since it was going to come out in federal district court in a few weeks, the IRS decided to spin it now instead of when the cold hard truth comes out in court. Either way they are in deep stuff. Lerner destroyed her own hard drive then tried to get IT to cover for her. Idiot that she is she didn’t know it was on backup tapes until later. Then all of IT knew what she was doing. To cover up this deep means someone high up is involved. My guess is White House lawyers the White House counsel early on in the administration.
