Interesting conversation for a fellow with one of those mail order preacher ordination papers from California. This person does have an illness with diabetes but insists on sleeping until 4:30 in the afternoon every day claiming he has nothing else to do. I mentioned since he attends this church every Sunday, they are always looking for volunteers to handle some of the ministry they provide like the food banks, clothes that are donated and etc which would give him something to do. The reply was as long as he throws 50 cents to a dollar in the collection pot he should not have to do squat. By the same token he has a relative by marriage fixing to pass and has known about it for a year and intends to go to the funeral. I advised him the best way to handle it was to put $10.00 away in savings which would help to cover the expenses for his transportation, lodging and food for that trip which is the same as following the parable found in the Holy Bible: Matthew Chapter 25 1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five [were] foolish. 3 They that [were] foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, [Not so]; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. The reply was unless some relative gives him a place to stay, feed him and wait on him, then he will go home because according to his belief, that part of the Bible was written by man and was false. That all he has to do is attend his church every Sunday, raise his hands in the air, speak gibberish and that is all he had to do. That as far as he was concerned, he never paid for his own expenses when with relatives and he is not about to start now. I then brought up two more points since he claimed to be a preacher which was the following: 1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. 2 Corinthians 11:13 - 11:15 13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Again he came out that it was written by man and was full of cr**. Then repeated all he had to do was attend his church on Sunday, toss in 50 cents to a dollar in the collection plate, raise his hands and speak gibberish. That as an ordained preacher, everyone is supposed to cover his expenses with the exception of himself. I ended the conversation there as another came immediately to mind: Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. By his replies, he is a fraud, a hypocrite and a con artist. These are the kind to be aware of.
