Interesting day. Chris qualified 4th in S2 class out of 63. We are 20 lbs over S2 weight.... In heat 1, Chris got a good start and was leading in the rain when #8 punted him off track. Got restarted in 8th place, but made it back to third. Hope he was docked points for driving. Then in S4 class, he qualified on the pole out of 83 karts. Just before heat 1, the track started drying up and everyone had to hurriedly change tires for a dry setup with slicks. We didnt have seat struts on, the tire pressures, front hubs, and gearing were set for the rain. Managed third place in heat one. These are great finishes for both classes. 2 more heats for both classes tomorow, and the points will be added to determine the starting grids for Sundays final event. Running 2 classes is brutal with the work required. Up at 5:45am every morning and leave the pits at 9:00pm at night. And we have to changes the kart setup early in the morning depending on the weather. Thanks DR Kart and the owners who flew in from Italy to support the DR Kart Team.
