Interesting developments coming with Zillow after April. I think - TopicsExpress

Interesting developments coming with Zillow after April. I think this article validates how most of our real estate profession feels. I for one am one of many real estate professionals so very disappointed with Zillow and would like nothing more than to see improvement of their services to buyers, sellers and real estate professionals. Why? For one thing, Zillow pulls information from many sources that provide outdated and misinformation to potential buyers. I have seen so many buyers waste precious time looking at homes that either sold months ago or were taken off the market. Buyers dont know the status of the home they are viewing as they dont have access to our local MLS (multi-listing service) as we do. We get the inquiry and waste more time looking up outdated information. . Also, the image and contact information of the agent associated with the listing you may be viewing on Zillow isnt always the agent that put the home on the market and knows much less about the house. Again, a waste of time for buyers trying to get correct information. As an agent, Zillow forces us to pay exorbitant fees to be that REALTOR that is seen next to your homes WE PUT ON THE MARKET! (We already pay fees to our local MLS to market your home.) This is another reason to hire a real estate professional to provide you with our user friendly free tools and resources to get instant, correct and updated immediately about active homes on the market.
