Interesting dilemma: I became vegan a couple of years ago, primarily for health and ecological reasons (IGF-1 factor/cancer AND overfishing, etc...). I then began composting, which is a powerful gateway drug to becoming a gardener, and I succummed... Once you actually become a vegan, the thought of killing to eat becomes repugnant. This has happened to me. I am now battling slugs. They are eating *my food*. I want to kill them, or at least get rid of them, or at least eat more than they do of the leafy greens I have invested (untold amounts of money and labor) into. I struggle... I kill in order to eat...
