Interesting e-mail this morning: “Mr. Radford, I read your article, “Why People Fake Illness.” I am from Canada and work as an engineer. I have been in contact with a biker in Quebec city that travels around the world with the donations from people by using his website and he says that he was diagnosed with terminal cancer but does not provide any form of official documents that demonstrate this status. I dont have any proof that he is faking a terminal cancer but it looks very strange. Is there any means to certify that he is living with a terminal cancer?” I want to help him and can give him some red flags suggesting a faked illness from my research and experience, but does anyone else have suggestions on how I should respond?
