Interesting fact of the day: In terms of the law, there are no independent candidates in a presidential bye-election, every candidate must be adopted or sponsored by a political party. No candidate can come and say am an independent candidate. Everybody must be adopted and or sponsored. A political party can only sponsor or adopt one candidate. JUSTICE MAMBILIMA We have certainly learnt some new today. If this is true, and we have no reason to doubt the most competent justice in Zambia, it is a very strange requirement. What is the logic of this law? Why does this only apply in presidential by-elections and not general elections?
