Interesting film from the end of WWll showing British troops checking out German tanks at the testing grounds in Haustenbeck. My ancestors emigrated from Number 59 Haustenbeck back in 1854 and came to America. The Senne area is still a training area for the Germans today and few houses remain in any recognizable condition. The comments are correct that the area is usually off limits to civilians with the the exception of occasional openings to former residents and their descendants I believe to mark the day they were forced to leave or the date of the original founding of the town, I am not sure which. The Eikermann bloodline is still alive and well in both countries.
