Interesting idea. Ill go one step further and claim that we dont need time zones at all. We can all happily live on UTC (GMT) and get up at 14:00 and go to bed at 06:00. Time has become so individualized that everyone is living by their own schedule anyway. If I travel from the US West Coast to the East Coast for three days, Ill just keep getting up at 14:00 and going to bed at 06:00 while Im there, saving my brain and body the stress of being jetlagged for three days and another few days after switching back.
