Interesting insight on a complex issue. Hypothetical: A scientist asks to include some of your photographs in a scientific paper to be published in a journal, even though he doesnt need it because printing images as natural history data in a scholarly publication is considered Fair Use. However, the the publication applies a Creative Commons license to all content appearing the article, including your photos. The author writes that based on the creative commons system, your photographs would be isolated from the paper, uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, and available for corporations who normally pay for your images to get them as freebies. This scheme is Open Access as a form of rights-laundering. blogs.scientificamerican/compound-eye/2014/01/19/the-awkward-copyright-collision-of-fair-use-and-creative-commons/
