Interesting letter to ETW about SAAs voyager programme How honest is Voyager? I have a big problem with Voyager. In December I travelled on Virgin Atlantic from Gatwick to Orlando and then back in January. As per the Voyager rules, if you travel on Virgin Atlantic and it is not a route that SAA flies then you can earn Voyager miles. I added my SAA number to the booking and after the flights never received the miles, which were for me and my family - four in total. I mailed via registered post the original boarding stubs and passport copies on February 10, 2013. There was a post office strike so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They confirmed that they had received the documents on March 30 after checking my tracking number and I was advised that in 45 working days the miles would reflect. To date I have still not received the miles. I call every month and get told the same story : We are still working on the February backlog. This delay has meant I was unable to book tickets with the miles for my upcoming December holiday, as without these miles I was too short. I have a client in the same situation. He flew Singapore Airlines in December/January and we had to send the originals to them. In this case there were six boarding stubs and they confirmed receipt of them on April 29. On May 4, one of the six flights had miles allocated. We are still waiting for the other five stubs to reflect. This delay has caused my client to lose out on the upgrade from silver to gold status! Surely something has to be done? At the end of the day these are miles owed to us and they are not awarding us what is due. It is difficult enough to find flights using miles so bookings have to be done well in advance. How can we do this when Voyager doesn’t give us the miles we are entitled to? - Julia Zieve, Golfers Wild Travel
