Interesting observation from last nights results. There were 17,051 votes cast yesterday. Of those votes the following numbers were straight ticket: Republican- 3005 55% Democrat- 2302 42% Libertarian- 135 2.5% I believe local elections should be about person, not national party mantra. As for that, elections and votes are a personal choice. There are hard feelings today because some people didnt support some other people. We all want our local community to succeed and we must remember that there are still more democrats than republicans. One person cant swing a large majority of votes as was the margin in many races. If you let winning or losing an elected position be personal then examine your heart. Are you truly wanting the best for our community? If you were not elected, by all means continue or begin working with the person or persons who were elected. Each of you had good ideas in your platform. Make our community better and try to work with the newly elected officials to see them through. Dont be sour grapes or a sore loser.
