Interesting perspective: People will argue with “you don’t really know someone until you live with them,” using it as justification for a practice lap. The way I see it, you can’t really know what someone’s made of until you share tax responsibilities, and as far as I know, there’s no practicing that. Besides, if you’re serious enough to contemplate living together, aren’t you probably spending most of your time at one person’s place or the other?
