Interesting perspective; beliefs are important for all of us, but beliefs that are not challenged constantly and modified as a result are simply a point source for delusion and frustration--the longer an individual goes unchanged in their ideology the more unhappy they are going to be with the world around them, maybe partly because theyve got some great ideas, but also because as much as things seem to always remain the same thats just an illusion--the truth is that the only constant is change. This is only one reason why its important to cultivate relationships with people of different ideologies and to do more than hearing when they talk, but actually listen. This also supports the argument that children should be taught how to think well before they are given ideas about what to believe.
