Interesting question posed here: What is the right version of Christianity? It seems many people interpret the Bible differently. Often when sharing my faith with my parents, they will say thats how you interpret it. Shouldnt we all interpret it the same? Below posted is how Ray Comfort answered a mans question on Bible interpretation. Anybody else feel free to join in here. “But Ray, how do you know you have the right version of Christianity? All versions are based on their own interpretation of the bible - so based on the laws of averages alone, you may have it wrong and others may have it right. You believe... other Christians are heading to hell while you are welcomed through the gates of heaven. As a Catholic, am I condemned? These are genuine questions and Im not saying you are wrong, I just want to know why you can condemn others with such certainty and how can you be so sure you have it right and others have it wrong?” Tony Marr Rays reply-I dont condemn anybody, neither do I believe that other Christians are heading for Hell. But here’s what the issue comes down to. The Bible is very clear—according to Jesus unless you are “born again” you will not enter Heaven: “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God….Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again’” (see John 3:1-5). The new birth takes place when you repent of sin and trust alone in Jesus for your eternal salvation. This has nothing to do with being a member of any church or denomination or with a belief in God’s existence. If you are born again, you are “saved” because your sins are forgiven and by God’s grace you are made righteous in His sight (justified). If you are not born again, then you are still in your sins and are justly condemned by Gods Law--the Ten Commandments: “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:19). The word believe in this verse means to trust in. So make sure that you have truly repented (this is more than confessing your sins to a priest or a pastor), and that your trust is alone in Jesus and not in your good works or in a church. Again, Jesus said to enter Heaven (and escape Hell) we must be born again. If I call myself a follower of Jesus Christ and I refuse to do what He says, Im deceiving myself. Please check this: needGod
