Interesting reading and some good points, but yet again too many broad generalizations and accusations. Yes, white people had slaves and built this country on their backs. Yet I cannot find a single slave owner anywhere in my genealogy research, which goes back approximately 23 generations (mostly outside of the US). I still dont deny that there are racial issues that need to be addressed, but the blame game (especially where there is no evidence to support fault) does not further connected, collaborative conversation about today--which is all we have. Lets deal with what is right now and fix it, since we are never going to change the past. Slavery happened in biblical times, too. People used the Bible to justify it and to justify killing non-Christians. There is so much terrible behavior in human history that we dont employ today. Lets start there: acknowledging what works and building it where it doesnt yet exist. Lets focus on love, unity and the goodness in everyone so that theres a place for those things (which work really freaking well) to grow and grow. Can we challenge ourselves to trust, to extend a hand and to join as one human race?
