Interesting that this lightly scribbled pencil marking has been on my bedroom wall for at least 9 years and I never noticed it until yesterday. Its been digitally altered to make it easier to read but its really not all that noticeable. Aracely would have been about 5 years old when she scribbled her name on the wall. And then I realized that it has been about 9 years, almost to the day, that the hearing for temporary orders in our lawsuit against the state for possession of these foster kids went against us. I was all for pushing forward with a jury trial. But I was alone in that sentiment. And the realization that I would never see these beautiful children again hit me and changed my life forever. Ive never known fatherhood except for these lovelies. They were a part of my life for two very short years. They are all teenagers now and I know not whatever became of them. I can only hope they still remember that they once had a Daddy that adored them and has never forgotten them. (Aracely was the youngest girl. I am carrying her in one photo.)
