Interesting things that happened while waiting for eye surgery on Thursday............ Before pupil dilation: sitting in waiting room. I am always so dehydrated, side -effect of many of my oral meds. I keep a tube of Biotene gel in my pocketbook for dry mouth. I snatched out the tube and squirted some in my mouth. As soon as it starts sliding down my throat, I know that its not my Biotene. I show the tube to Hugh and he tells me its hydro-cortisone cream. Yup, thats right. I ingested probably a tablespoon of hydro-cortisone cream. I have no idea if it is going to have any consequences; but, at least, my throat shouldnt itch.... After pupil dilation drops: sitting in another waiting room, waiting and waiting and waiting for my pupil to dilate...... The nurse brings an older man to the waiting room and tells him he can have a seat anywhere. He pipes out with, Can I sit in that girls lap? (Im the only woman in the waiting room.) The nurse said, She might not like that too much. Then, he said, Oh, shoot. Her grandpa brought her. (meaning Hugh.) Now, we all need to remember, he had also had dilating drops put in his eyes; but, Im still gonna count it as a compliment! (Hughs Santa Claus beard makes folk think hes older than he is, especially someone with dilated pupils!!!!)
