Interesting thought: Wouldnt it be funny if low oil prices eventually caused the final blows that ended the western worlds dominance. See Africa (Most Notably Nigeria) and the Middle East (States like Saudi Arabia, Qutar, Bahrain, UAE, and Kuwait) for further contemplation. Quagmires with hoards of justifiably pissed off ppl tend to rise in such places... especially if a bubble burst and nothing is there to take up the economic and social development slack (moreso if they feel economically/politically betrayed by certain ppl). But yeah... we are sure showing and teaching those evil Russian, Iranians, and Venezuelans a lesson. That will teach them to have a differing opinion and stick up for themselves like normal dignified human beings... and its not like this event will only make/force them diversify or adapt their economies to be even stronger than it was before (see China in the BOTH the 1970s and 1990s). In an interconnected world, i laugh and am often puzzled how ppl celebrate personal convenience (IE paying $10-15 less at your weekly gas fill-up) even at the expense of the global economic system and political/social stability. Two words come to mind: Short-sightedness and BLOWBACK! Oh well, cue the victim mentality from western yuppies and hillbillies alike in 5 years, 4 years, 3 years, 2 years... maybe us omniscient westerners will learn something this go-round. ;)
