Intern, Schwab Foundation Location: Geneva Deadline: Until candidate identified Description INTERN, SCHWAB FOUNDATION The World Economic Forum is an international institution committed to improving the state of the world through public-private cooperation in the spirit of global citizenship. It engages with business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. Incorporated as a not-for-profit foundation in 1971 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the Forum is independent, impartial and not tied to any interests. It cooperates closely with all leading international organizations. The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship is an affiliate organization of the World Economic Forum, based in Geneva, and a leading player in the field of social entrepreneurship. The mission of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship is to equip global leaders with the knowledge and tools to adopt and accelerate social innovation ideas and practices. To do so, it has three main activities: identify and support outstanding social entrepreneurs; inspire and educate the next generation of social entrepreneurs; and engage all stakeholder groups, particularly the private sector, to advance the social innovation agenda. Duties and Responsibilities • Coordinate the selection process across the regions for the Social Entrepreneur of the Year competition, including scheduling interviews, facilitating due diligence and preparing materials for our board • Assist regional community managers with planning processes for social entrepreneur programming at World Economic Forum meetings • Liaise with other World Economic Forum communities, industry teams and the programme team to advocate for members of the social entrepreneurs’ community • Conduct research as necessary and prepare presentations and other materials Qualifications and Skills • Strong academic background with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a directly relevant field • Educational and/or professional experience in social entrepreneurship/social innovation; international development (microfinance, public health, energy, rural development) and/or private-sector experience • Fluent in English with strong oral and written communication skills If you meet these requirements, please apply online.
