International Student Retreat-Day 1, Part II: After checking into the motel and having a somewhat authentic Chinese dinner, we took the International students for an illuminated tour of the monuments: Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Korean Memorial, Washington Monument, White House, Smithsonian, and Capital. Mr. Watkins, our high school principal and resident historian, spoke on the Christian heritage of the founding fathers at the Jefferson Memorial. It has been a fun day. Tomorrow, we go up the Washington Monument for a spectacular view, visit the Smithsonian, have lunch at Union Station, and visit the Washington Zoo where Mr. Kohout with speak on the God of Creation. We will have supper at an authentic Italian restaurant and I will speak on the subject of Only One Life.
