International Surf Life Saving Training Opportunity 2013 – Sri Lanka Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) is seeking the services of a SLSA Trainer / Assessor / Facilitator to travel to Sri Lanka for approximately 8 weeks from 1 October to 30 November 2013 to assist the Sri Lanka Coast Guard improve their lifeguard training capability. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the gender of the officers and personnel of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard and accommodation format and availability, a male trainer is required. The activity is to deliver surf lifesaving training and Trainers’ training program based on that of SLSA and consistent with the Certificates of the International Life Saving Federation (ilsf.org); specifically, First Aid (BLS), Surf Lifesaving (ILS Beach Lifeguard) and Training Officer (Trainer/Assessor). Other training may include familiarisation with lifesaving Standard Operating Procedures. The training will be conducted at the Sri Lanka Coast Guard’s Balapitiya Life Training School. Balapitiya is in South of Sri Lanka close to Galle.
