Interval training is this Thursday 8th May. Sprint - recover - sprint - recover. Simple, yes - and as hard as you want to make it - you decide your speed and number of repetitions. Interval training will improve your speed and stamina and allows you to run harder for longer because of the recovery periods. We run a circuit of a rectangle of pavements - 2 short sides, 2 long sides. You pick 2 parallel sides for speed, the other 2 for recovery. Your choice. Speed? Your choice. Some handy pointers. 1) You can chat during the speed bursts - too slow. 2) You cant speak but can utter single words/grunt/curse on the fast sides of the rectangle. Just right.. 3) You threw up in someones front garden? Too fast. This session IS suitable for most runners as its a short run to the rectangle of roads from the park. Any questions? Give it a go- you might actually love it .. Or at least love the results! Meet 6.50pm in Kings Heath Park, near the Avenue Rd entrance. Gates shut at 8pm approx - dusk.
