Interviews are so interesting, you get a little more of an impression than just basing what their personality might be like from their performance, painting, or acting. Obviously it is them physically talking but it all depends on what they are talking about. When they are asked on societys view on themselves or who they think they are; their viewpoints and angle of which they view their own person really shows their character and self reflection.
