Into the Same Image Read 2 Corinthians 3:18 To be conformed to the image of the Son of God is Biblical and commanded! "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:1-2). "Metamorphosis" comes from "transformed", which is used to illustrate the process of a caterpillar changing into a butterfly. Jesus was transfigured in Mathew 17:1-2: "Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light." We are to become like Christ. "Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all" (Colossians 3:9-11) --Steve Miller, Gold Hill Rd. church of Christ, Fort Mill, SC
