Introduced to the public at a young age by the Brazilian music masters Antonio Carlos Jobim and Toquinho, prolific performer, composer and producer Andres Laprida has racked up rave reviews from audiences, musicians and critics worldwide for his brilliant guitar skills. His unique sound matches any style, and Laprida has recorded with a wide range of artists, including Gato Barbieri, Phillipe Saisse, New London Consort Orchestra and DJ Spooky. At this special concert, singer Julie E.& Benny koonyevsky on percussion joins Laprida to pay tribute to Jobim and Argentinean composer Ástor Piazzolla, who is credited with adding a touch of jazz and classical to tango and creating a new style called nuevo tango.
