Introducing “Café Sac-a’-Lait”! An almost perfect environment for recording songwriters with an acoustic guitar! This isn’t a ‘real’ café but an emulation of the laid-back attitude of a café gig. The room is beautifully built- all wood- with just enough acoustic treatment to ‘sense’ the wood of the room but not get cluttered with all the early reflections typically associated with an un-treated room. This is very important in a recording environment. Because of this, you get the sense of a “live” performance- but in a studio environment! The microphones are world-class! German and American built. We choose dynamic microphones for this task because they’re more ‘neutral’ sounding in the digital age. The guitars are world-class! Guitars by Martin and Takamine! Of course you can bring your own but we’ll supply a Martin D-35 or a Takamine Tan15. Both are extraordinary guitars and when mic’d up sound like a record! The microphone pre-amp/eq chain is also world-class. In fact, this signal chain is arguably the best one could possibly use in any recording studio anywhere in the world! Your performance is recorded via a state-of-the-art Digital Audio Workstation. The analog to digital conversion is top shelf! What this all means, essentially, is you’re performing in a great room AND recording in a studio equivalent to Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, etc!! All-in-all the songwriter gets the best of all worlds for a remarkable price- with perks! We’ll include espresso coffee or a bottle of wine (of course providing you’re legal drinking age)! How much? …all of the above for $99! Yes, there are some limitations and they are: Two microphones. This can be one singer who plays guitar or a singer and an accompanying guitarist. At the moment- we’re accepting acoustic guitarists only. We’re working on other options. 90 Minutes in the room to record whatever you desire! A CD or MP3 will be included. No editing of the performance- this is meant to be ‘live!’ You can bring two guests to share the wine/coffee! All performances start at 8PM.
