Introducing Conrad! A Cat Cove volunteer found a dog last night - TopicsExpress

Introducing Conrad! A Cat Cove volunteer found a dog last night running down Lakewood Blvd. in Downey and stopped to pick him up. He was running back and forth across the busy street before he was hit by a car and then sat down on the curb and did not want to get back up again! The volunteer took him to the vet - they think he is less than a year old and (of course!) he is not neutered or micro-chipped. He walks with his hips pulled in like his hips are pushing towards the ground when he walks. They took full body x-rays this morning to be sure there was no internal bleeding or broken bones. They said he has some swelling so he will need anti-inflammatory medication for the next several days and rest. He is not wanting to walk a lot right now. We also had them give him his rabies and other dog vaccinations. He seems to like other dogs and does not respond to our volunteers foster cats at all, so he should be fine with cats too. Since he is not neutered yet, we will have to do that before he can be adopted. The volunteer said he likes to sit in her lap and give her kisses! He is a sweet boy! We here at The Cat Cove cant look the other way when we see needy animals! Even though we predominately care of cats, we have also been known to pick up dogs, bunnies, bird and even the occasional Raccoon and Opossum babies! This little boy was given the name Conrad! If you would like to make a donation to his care, you can donate directly to our vet at Primary Care Animal Hospital or via our Paypal account.
