Introducing HOLLY!!! Holly was found as a stray near Poplar and Highland in Midtown Memphis on 12/2/14. She was taken to the Animal Emergency Center (AEC), where the great staff there took care of her and looked for her owner. After 8 days, AEC announced that they would no longer be able to keep Holly -- and that if someone did not step up for her, she would be sent to MAS, Memphiss high-kill animal shelter. Holly was rescued on 12/10/14 on a leap of faith! As most of you know, I am not a part of a rescue group, and I do not have rescue backing. Happy Holly -- named for the holiday, or for Christmas Holly -- received all of her shots last week, and she was spayed!! Thankfully, Holly is HW negative!!! She is a beautiful tan pit/lab mix, and she is about 18 months old. She weighs 50 pounds and is full grown. She was de-wormed; received her flea and tick meds; and received a Pro-Heart injection, which protects her from HWs for 6 months. Holly has purple scars under her neck/throat area, which the vet attributes to her being restrained, at some point, by a cable, rope, or chain. Holly was temperament-tested last week by an expert, and she passed with flying colors! She gets along great with people and other dogs. She does NOT like cats, though! Holly has a wide smile that is captivating! She is as happy, friendly, and affectionate as a dog can be! Holly is being boarded at the vet until she finds her forever home.
