Introducing Podweed! Podweed was a tiny pup found on 30th June 2014 in Carlingford, Co. Louth. He was very small at only 9.9kg and was a newly born pup with his umbilical cord still attached. He was found by some men canoeing and he swam right up on to their canoe for help. After lengthy observation, it was decided to rescue little Podweed when his mother never returned. Initially Podweed was tube fed a sugary rehydration solution as he had not been fed by his mother at all and was very dehydrated. He responded very well to fluid therapy and was quickly progressed on to a special milk formula designed for marine mammals which will help him grow nice and fat! Podweed is now 5 weeks old and is VOYAs 3rd seal to be adopted. We will keep you updated on all our adopted seals using the hashtag #PUPdate
