Introducing our newest save and member to hhs...this is winston...a five week old lab. He was given away way too early and was living in conditions that were not fair to a puppy. He has fleas so bad that he is anemic and dehydrated. He also Has sores behind his ears and on his back end due to the fleas. Tge state of Maine has a law that an animal cannot be given away until it is 56 days of age. This is a perfect example of why. This puppy should still be with his mother, should be getting a puppy shot, and being taken care of until 56 days of age, before he goes to a new home. This is also another reason why you dont give animals away for free to people that you do not know. People should be screened for finances, meaning can they afford a puppy. They should be screened for things like have they ever had other animals taken away? They should be screened to see if they have other animals and if theyre taken care of. Not given away for free like a living room couch. He will be fostered at the Millers until he is healthy enough to go up for adoption. We are NOT taking applications now nor is he able to be seen. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and any donations of puppy food, canned or dry, or puppy pads or Pedialyte would be a huge help. Thank u as always♡♥
