Introducing your new State Farm intern (a future good neighbor): Kilong Ung is the author of his memoir Golden Leaf: A Khmer Rouge Genocide Survivor and founder of Golden Leaf Education Foundation, an organization that builds schools for children in need. Kilong survived the Cambodian genocide for more than four years. He escaped the Cambodian killing fields in 1979. He came to U.S. as a refugee, learned English in high school, and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1983. He graduated from Reed College in 1987 with a bachelors degree in mathematics. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a masters degree in applied statistics & operations research. Kilong was in documenatry THE BOMBHUNTERS, Spike TVs Deadliest Warrior (Saddam Hussein vs. Pol Pot), MTVs Dealiest Warrior Aftermath, and documentary Risking Light (currently in post production.) He was an online-banking software engineer at Fiserv. He is currently completing his internship with State Farm to become a business owner and a State Farm agent. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Portand and the Royal Rosarians. Kilong is married to high school sweetheart Lisa Ung and has two teenage children. His hobbies include ballroom dancing and golf.
