Introduction au jeu: L’Appel de Cthulhu est un jeu de cartes pour 2 joueurs dans lequel les joueurs construisent leurs paquets à partir de sept factions différentes du Mythe de Cthulhu. Les joueurs vont ensuite s’affronter afin de gagner des cartes histoires au travers de divers défis. Le premier joueur à gagner trois cartes histoire gagne le jeu. Les cartes histoire représentent les situations bizarres et effrayantes dans lesquelles investigateurs et cultistes se retrouvent plongés. Les cartes histoires sont gagnées au travers d’une série d’épreuves : Terreur, Combat, Occulte et Investigation, et finalement une comparaison de compétences. Un assortiment équilibré de personnages, cartes support et évènements est la clef de voute de tout paquet de L’Appel de Cthulhu.
