Invasive Threat Thursday: Following up on last weeks Invasive threat post, heres another management technique that is gaining support to control invasive plants: sheep and goats! Using grazing animals to eat invasive plants can help control their populations and allow native plants to grow using intensive rotational grazing techniques. This management method has some benefits, such as no need for herbicides, and and in ecosystems which used to have heavy grazing (such as the plains) may be helpful in more ways than just controlling the invasives.
