Investing in One Another 1 Corinthians 12:25 ... so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. When Paul speaks of our gifts and how each of us must work toward becoming a vital and fully functioning part of the body. Visualize a young person trying hard to discover and develop their own skill. Another more experienced person comes alongside -- whether a cheerleader or to provide additional instruction. Thats how we grow together in Christ. But it doesnt just happen by accident or without any effort on our part. In our passage today, Paul explains that our development as a part of the body is to be without creating division. The only way this happens is if each of us has an equal concern for one another. I might say it another way. We need to invest in each other, the same way every coach and teammate I had invested in improving my basketball skills over the years. If we understand and apply these principles so easily in sports or in education, how much more value will there be for Gods glory? Ive found one of the most thrilling and exciting things in my life is to find out what God wants me to do and where He wants me to go. It might take some effort, but it never gets old. It is an incredible adventure to discover what new gift God might have specifically given me (or want me to pass on to someone else), in order to accomplish His next mission.
