The Centre is looking for suitable candidate for those posts : 1.Research Manager •To manage participatory research relating to how urban renewal programs affect the urban renewal programs affect the urban poor, their shelters and livelihood and what is the impact on climate change. The research is ongoing in 3dozens cities and towns with a focus on six cities. •The candidate should possesses a Master’s degree in any field related to urban development, and have demonstrable experience of at least six years in designing participatory research studies, along with a record of dealing with diverse community groups, guiding research assistants, and good writing skills in English and done major Indian Language. Extensive travel outside Delhi comes with the job. •Minimum take home pay will be Rs. 24,500p.m 2.Research Assistant •To undertake participatory research and training with urban labour groups in the informal sector to understand their condition of working and living and to conduct dialogues with then on the kind of policies required to improve those conditions. The research is ongoing in 3dozen cities and towns. •The candidate should possess a master’s degree in any field related to labour studies, with at least some research papers to her/his credit. Documentation and data gathering skills as well as facility in working with groups in different languages would be an advantage. Travel comes with the job. •Minimum take home pay of Rs. 14,100p.m. 3.Communication Associate •To evolve designs for and prepare films, posters, pamphlets, books, and exhibits in consultation with the research team, that would appeal to a wide cross-section of working people in urban communities, students and young researchers. •Candidates should possess a degree in any field related to media and have at least three years experience in media designs and production. Any artistic skill in music, painting, theatre etc. would be an added advantage. •Minimum take home pay of Rs. 19,300p.m. All potential candidates for the above posts should keep in mind the following before applying: a.The pay is just enough to meet personal needs in a city like Delhi. b.Working hours are irregular and long. c.The work and the team are exciting and the Centre has a proven track record of being a tremendous learning experience. d.The word demands a pro-people bias and a level of comfort interacting with ordinary people. e.Sensitivity to issues of gender class, caste and race are necessary components of this work. f.All those are embedded in an alternative vision of society.
