Invitation for The World Inside the School Speakers We are looking for foreign speakers who can introduce your country to Korean students. This could be good opportunity to promote your country and make great experience in Korea. ▷ Date: August 29th (Fri.), from 1 to 3PM. ▷ Place: Seoseok middle school (27, Hwajeong-ro 253beon-gil, Seo-gu, Gwangju) - 광주광역시 서구 화정로 253번길 27(화정동) 서석중학교 ▷ Applying Condition: Anyone willing to introduce his/her country to Koreans ▷ Recruitment Period: Until August, 21th (Thu.) - Program Guidance ▷ The Objectives of the Program 1) To provide opportunities for all participants to share their culture 2) To enhance the multicultural understanding among the Korean youth 3) To create a constructive partnership between Koreans and global citizens ▷ Volunteers Qualifications 1) Ones should be able to introduce his/her own country’s culture in classrooms of elementary, middles or high schools with various materials for 70 or 90 minutes. 2) There is no limitation of Nationality. 3) One should be able to speak English fluently. * There will be a Korean interpreter who can help you. * It is possible even you can’t speak English if you know someone who can be your interpreter. 4) To take pride in ones country and willing to be an ambassador representing their country in spreading their cultures. 5) Responsibility and cooperation are essential. ▷ Topics to be Covered 1) Basic things of your country: location, flag, clothes, food, housing, language, etc. 2) Anything interesting that best describes your culture 3) Hands-on activities preferred: Trying on your traditional costume, tasting your native food, learning about your country’s songs and dances, making simple things that represent your culture, etc. ▷ Materials to be Used Traditional clothes, National flags, Maps, Currencies, Audiovisual materials, etc. ▷ There are an honorarium to support your preparation. - If you are interested in this, please contact GIC before 21th to arrange orientation schedule and contents. * Contact Info.: Youngho Yoon (GIC Coordinator) / [email protected] / (062)226-2733~4
