Iowas Smokey Ds got 6th place chicken, 5th place ribs, 5th place pork, 4th place brisket and Grand Champion (which we actually tied which Big Tz Cru Crew in overall points) today at the King of the Smoker invitational BBQ competition today in La Quinta, CA. We won $10,500 which we are donating all of it back to the Casey Lee Ball Foundation which supports pediatric kidney research. We are very honored to be a part of this incredible event. We are also a part of the Big Poppa Smokers elite team where 15 teams compete all year long and the category winners and overall winner gets money donated to the childrens charity of their choice. Iowas Smokey Ds BBQ is proud to announce that we were the overall winners in the Rib and Brisket categories as well as the overall winner; therefore, Big Poppa Smokers and Sterling C Ball will be donating $11,000 to our charity, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Greater Iowa and we are matching that donation for a grand total of $22,000 going to a charity that means a great great deal it us since our daughter Haley Warth was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of eleven. I want to thank Sterling Ball and his entire staff along with the La Quinta Resort for putting on such an incredible event.
