Iran gas pipeline declared ‘unhelpful’ for Pakistan ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Minister of Petroleum Shahid Khaqaan Abbasi informed the lower house that no gas would be provisioned after completion of Iran-Pakistan pipeline project. The federal minister told the National Assembly’s session that there is shortage of funds to construct gas pipeline and to purchase necessary equipments. Abbasi said that gas supply cannot be started as the provision would be started after removal of international sanctions over Iran. According to minister, more than Rs7.5 billion gas theft was made in last year while petroleum products produced Rs513 billion levy to the national treasury. The gas pipeline construction upto 780 kilometers has to be completed in December 2014 on Pakistani land but it faced various delays while Pakistan would have to pay fine charges on daily basis in case of non-completion of the project this year. thenewstribe/2014/03/...-for-pakistan/
