Iran’s new President Hassan Rouhani was in New York last week to speak at the U.N. But the real news came when he admitted to CNN that the Holocaust took place. He even called it a reprehensible and condemnable crime against the Jews. Of course, in the very next breathe, he condemned Israel, too. But it shows you what we’re dealing with in negotiating with the Iranian government when all it takes for the new leader to be labeled a moderate is for him to admit that the Holocaust was real, and it was a bad thing.
