Ireland is opening a consulate in Austin this year--the first new Irish consulate to be opened in the United States in 70 years! One of the reasons Ireland is opening this consulate is because they want to seek ways to increase trade between their country and Texas. I look forward to working closely with the new Irish Consulate to promote Texas agriculture and to seek ways to promote the export of Texas grown and Texas owned products to this friendly ally of the U.S..
