Ironworks Functionally Fit themes for the week of 1/5 - 1/10 M/T 5/6 Hip/Shoulder/Spine Matrix Of all the themes and modes we offer in the Functionally Fit Series we enjoy teaching this one the most. Using the floor sliders, cones, tubes and bands we will ask you to work through all three planes of motion searching for your edge in terms of Range. True Range of Motion in the most functional real-life sense happens when one, two, three of even all four extremity’s are anchored via gravity and then asking your hips, spine and shoulders to react as a result of any number of variables, including distance, load, and direction. Finding your ROM edge serves the purpose of forcing adaptation to that repetitive movement. Inotherwords you improve your functional ability. W/TH 7/8 Agility Training/ Rotational Core work Using the floor ladders we will creatively challenge your foot agility and speed and mix in lots of Transverse core/hip/shoulder work standing and both prone and supine using a variety of tools including the stay balls, med balls, tubes, Rip Trainers, and Functional Trainers. Treadmill Hill Climbing included. F/Sat 9/10 Bilateral Muscular Endurance – 100’s!!! This is typically run as a circuit so you can work individually to get to 100 reps at each station. Expect to work large compound movements like squats and pull-ups to small single joint movements like bicep curls and finish with some long core sets. If we’re doing our job we will adjust the weight at just the right moment so you don’t have to stop moving and will completely fatigue the muscles that generate a given movement recruiting other fibers to get involved and training muscle tissue to process fuel more effectively.
